BELOW ARE SOME FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS AND OUR CANCELLATION AND PAYMENT TERMS.

PLEASE REMEMBER DEVON MOBILE DISCO HAS DJ's ALL OVER DEVON AND OUR MAIN INTENTION IS TO ENSURE YOU HAVE A RELIABLE EXPERIENCED DJ FOR YOUR SPECIAL OCCASION. WE ALSO HAVE A RESERVE DJ OF A WEEKEND ON STANDBY TO COVER JUST IN CASE OF UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES.  ( HOWEVER WE CAN NOT FLY  SO SHOULD YOU VENUE GET SNOWED IN, THAT MIGHT BE A TRICKY ONE IN THIS INSTANCE WE WOULD NOT EXPECT YOU TO PAY FOR IT EITHER)

HOW ARE YOU DIFFERENT FROM A NATIONAL DISCO AGENCY ?

Most National Companies have never met or seen at work the DJ they send to your event. All to often they ring around to find the first available DJ in a 100 mile radius and then increase the fee by 15 to 20% to cover their fees.

At Devon Mobile Disco we know all of our DJ's , we use them most weeks of the year and in addition to constantly recieiving thank you emails and letters have also been to see them at work. We also recieve a great deal of rebookings and reccomendations from previous customers.

HOW ARE YOU DIFFERENT FROM A ONE MAN BAND ENTERPRISE ?

There a many, very good experienced Single person run Mobile Discos who do an incredible job at each and every party they are booked for. Some of these do not even need to advertise for work as it is all done by word of mouth. On the down side there are also many cowboys with cheap unreliable sound equipment and what we call Bedroom lights ( the type of thing found on Ebay for £20 or less).  If you are looking around the net try looking for pictures of the show or asking the DJ if they can email you pictures.

At D.M.D. all the pictures shown on the site and videos are of the Disco's we currently use. We also work on a RESERVE DISCO BASIS. This means that we have a DJ on standby each week for unforseen circumstances. Because at least 8 of us are full time DJs we keep 1 weekend in 8 free. The benefit to our customers is peace of mind and security. Should 1 of the shows become ill, have a family issue or have an accident on the way to a booking, we have a standby disco all loaded and ready to step in at a minutes notice.

CAN WE HAVE A SAY WITH THE MUSIC PLAYED DURING THE NIGHT ?

Some DJs play the same songs in the same order at every disco they do. Some Discos believe they know you better than you do. Some discos even claim to know what will be best for your guests even before they have met them.

At D.M.D. we know all to well that no 2 nights or events are ever the same. You can have as much or as little input as you would like to. You can give us an idea of the decades of music you would like (ie 70s 80s 90s ) You can provide a playlist of Must play songs, you can supply 100 of your favorite songs and we will arrange them into an order, You can also advise us of songs you would not want to hear on the night. At the end of the day we are booked by you to play the music you want to listen and dance to. All we ask is that you give us at least 2 weeks notice so we can ensure we have all your requests.

HOW CAN I BE ASSURED THAT MY BOOKING IS DEFINATE AND SOMEONE WILL ARRIVE ?

We receive quite a few calls from customers who have booked other companies, and then panic because they can not get hold of the DJ the day before the booking.  The Customers then ask if we have a disco available or if we have upto date information for the other company.

First & Foremost at D.M.D.we issue written confirmation sent by post for each booking we take. This confirmation is a contract between both parties in writing confirming that we will provide a Disco Dj Karaoke or whatever you have booked on the date, at the times and venue requested by yourself. We then ask you to sign and return 1 copy of this to our office. Our Telephone numbers have not changed in the last 10 years and should there ever be a reason to change Both office and mobile number we would write to each customer advising them of the new number. In addition to this we have a good internet presence which would always be kept upto date.

WHAT ARE YOUR TERMS OF  PAYMENT & DEPOSIT ?

We do not insist on a deposit but we do insist on a contract being returned within 7 days of you receiving it. Payment is either due in cash right at the start of the night direct to the DJ or prepaid by cheque at least 28 days before the event. We can take credit and debit card payments in advance via paypal but the addtional fee from paypal would be added to the total cost of the booking. On average this tends to increase the fee by 5%.

WE DO NOT ACCEPT CHEQUE PAYMENT ON THE NIGHT

Any payments that are made in advance are recorded by reciept that is posted as soon as it clears. For companies we can also supply an additional invoice to allow payment on the night. We do not work on a credit basis.

WHAT ARE YOUR TERMS & FEES FOR CANCELLATION ?

The first thing to remember is that the minute you ask to book a Disco from D.M.D. the work for us and the DJ begins. The minute we reserve a Disco for you neither us or the Dj will take any other work for that date even if someone tries to tempt them with a higher fee.

Cancellation of any verbal or email enquiry made 24 hours after a booking has been made will be charged a fee of £30.00.This is due within 7 days. This fee will be waived if another date is booked at the time of cancellation.

Bookings without a signed contract that have been accepted by us via email where you have used the terms i would like to book you and have an email footer refering you to our terms and conditions will consitute a firm contarct instead of a signed paper contract. This will be shown as confirmed by you as soon as your postal address is supplied to us via email.

Bookings  that cancel within 8 to 12 weeks of a booking date will be billed at 50% of the full fee. This fee will be reduced if another booking within 8 weeks of the original date is made at the time of cancellation. Instead a fee of £30.00 will become payable within 7 days.

Bookings  that cancel within 29 days to 8 weeks of a booking date will be billed at 75% of the full fee. This fee will be reduced if another booking within 8 weeks of the original date is made at the time of cancellation. Instead a fee of £30.00 will become payable within 7 days.

Bookings  that cancel within 28 days of the booking date will be billed at 100% of the full fee. This fee will be reduced if another booking within 8 weeks of the original date is made at the time of cancellation. Instead a fee of 50% of the original fee will become payable within 7 days.

Any bookings  cancelled within 7 days of the booking will be charged at 100% OF THE FULL BOOKING FEE with no reductions available. This fee will be due by the date of performance or will fall under the late payment charges mentioned above,

Please remember you are booking professional DJs and that a cancellation may well affect their income for that week. Some companies insist on full fee payment for any cancelled bookings within 6 months of  the booking date. We believe our terms are fair to all parties concerened. For customers who have prepaid for their disco only the amount of money that applies to the cancellation terms will be retained with the balance returned within 7 days.
