STUART HUGHEs
FOLLOWING A BREAK OF 15 YEARS FROM THE 'WHEELS OF STEEL' WATCH OUT COZ STU's BACK IN 2008!!
'Whatever the occasion' be it a Wedding, 18th, 21st, 40th, 50th Birthday or Anniversary Party a Children's Party or themed night with Music from the 50's & 60's through to the Charts of today.
Stuart first took to the road with his mobile disco whilst living in Yeovil back in 1969 and his first gig was at the Quayside Discotheque at Weymouth where he was paid just £5.00 “In those daysa fiver was alot of moneyyou could get to Weymouth and back for less than 50p’s worth of fuel.My first set up was a pair of Garrard SP25decks a 50 watt linear valve amp, two home made speaker cabs a pair of light boxes a UV lamp and a microphone. I didn’t have a mixer and I therefore had to fill in with plenty of chat whilst waiting for the next record to start playing” said Stuart. “I soon picked up regular gigs at pubs and signed up to a couple of local entertainment agencies who kept me busy and it wasn’t long before I was out four or five nightsa week.In my early days I backed many bands at the Assembly Rooms including Slade and Cupids Inspiration”.
Stuart kept his hand in DJ’ing in the early 80’s and performed at several venues including Carinas a club he later went on to manage “I also played a few clubs between 1989 and 1992at Bridport and Okehamptonand backed the bands at the Sidmouth Caribbean Night but haven’t done muchsince”.
Now in 2008Stuart hashit the road once again “There have been many comebacks recently we’ve seen the Spice Girls and TakeThat and now its Stuart Hughesturn. I believe that the smoking ban has played its part in my decision plus the fact that both the Carnival and Tango Juvenile Carnival Club which are part of my life are desperate for funds andthis seems to be the way to help. I haven’t been impressed with many of the DJ’s I have seen recently as all they appear to do is put on the music with little or no chat they certainly haven't any personality about them. I am not looking to be out every night of the week but one or maybe two gigs would be good and if anyone is looking for a DJ who knows how to entertain, well I don’t like boasting but I do have all the credentials and my music knowledge of the 60’s 70’s 80’s and 90’s is second to none. My new show has 1,000watts of RCF power which is crystal clear and the lightshow is stunning with lasers and leds playing their part. Special effects include Snow, Bubbles and Smoke. I'm back and I'm really looking forward to entertaining you".
Stuart has a wealth of experience with a moden looking and sounding Mobile Disco Show and is known as a personality DJ - in brief he is not a human Juke Box and believes in entertaining his audience as well as playing the right music to keep you dancing al night.
There will be some up to date Photo's and Footage to follow in the next few weeks.
